The Newt
Bruton, Somerset
Phos has worked in partnership with lighting design practice Illumination Works, to help create a lighting scheme for luxury hospitality experience, The Newt.
Based in Bruton Somerset, this Georgian estate built in 1690 has been reimagined into a spa, hotel, farm shop, “cyder “press and gardens, creating the ultimate weekend country escape. The lighting design concept by illumination Works acts as the cohesive element that unites the numerous historic buildings and facilities throughout the estate. Within the communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms and spa our Phos Eyeconic Trimless and Mini Trim downlights were used to compliment the interior scheme and showcase the playful design concept and material palette. The Zep 1 Darklight helped provide wayfinding in darker areas of the buildings and also provided a continuity of light levels. Enhancing the luxurious atmosphere, the downlights rely on their discreetness to illuminate the interiors, washing light onto the classically beautiful architecture of these reinvigorated buildings that have redefined the country house hotel scene.
