Phos is 1-year old today….and it really is a Happy Birthday!
We wanted to take this opportunity to look back at what we have achieved in the first 12 months of our rebrand…
In September we launched our immersive film experience ‘The Power of Light’ during the 2019 London Design Festival. The film is a love letter to the magical medium of light and celebrates this wonderful intangible substance. We have since developed original and engaging content through a series of interviews with leading creatives and designers who all share the same passion and enthusiasm for light as we do. In December our "Eyeconic" range was awarded "Best Interior Lighting Kit" at the Darc Awards and March saw the range shortlisted for the 2020 Lighting Design Awards. Both beautiful and functional, discreet and powerful, the range is the passion project of a team who are whole-heartedly dedicated to the medium of light, constantly pushing the boundaries of traditional lighting manufacture. Light is a fossil in our DNA that has governed us since the dawn of man, and we ignore it at our peril. “The Power of Light” is considered and respected in each and every product we make. We have an opportunity to change the way we operate, design and optimise health with it, and we hope that with your help, we can design a better future together. When Covid-19 hit earlier this year we all took stock of what it meant to be human again. A perfect opportunity to showcase what light meant to us. As an extension to the ethos behind Phos, we have created The Light Tribe; a neutral platform and affiliation of kindred spirits focused on the “The Power of Light”. The industries currently engaged and involved in this subject matter are fragmented, often with different objectives and expectations. The Light Tribe will amalgamate researchers, designers and multiple communities under one powerful umbrella, sharing knowledge, passion, experience, intelligence, becoming a powerful vehicle to action change.
We have now sponsored and hosted 7 episodes (ongoing) including neuroscientist’s (Dr Shelley James and Professor Russell Foster), light pollution campaigner (Kerem, Dark Source), Colour experts (Marianne Shillingford of Dulux and Karen Haller, Colour Pyschologist), the journey has created a whole new Tribe with huge interest world-wide.
